Well, let’s get this out of the way: I believe since my last entry on the 21st, ICE murdered Alex Pretti, and the government’s decided to throw Bovino and Noem under the bus to see if that will appease the libs. The Democrats say they’ve reached an agreement with the GOP to have ICE wear body cams and have ID on them and blah blah blah in order to get funding. ICE has killed, and ICE will kill again, unless we take drastic and necessary measures. The moderate approach is to defund and abolish ICE, prosecute anyone involved, and return society to the pre-9/11 security protocol. That would only be the start.
Anyway, what else has been going on? I’ve been reading quite a bit: Just finished The Ministry of Time and moved on to Grady Hendrix’s Witchcraft for Wayward Girls. Good read so far. I also have done quite a bit of writing for Start-Track although my mental mood has dried me up this weekend. And speaking of the weekend, if you’ve watched the weather, you know we got about two feet of snow (if not more) here in the Northeast. All schools throughout the Greater Boston Area shut down Monday and Tuesday. I was out getting my exercise in via the shovel. The plows got stuck on our driveway Monday night. I guess they too weren’t used to having the most snow we’ve had in over a decade.
I’m not about to make any snow angels or anything, though. Last time we had a snowfall like this, my old roommate and I played hooky from work and went to Central Park to build snowmen and throw ourselves against hard-packed snowbanks like idiots. But I was a young twenty-something then, and now in my middle age, I’ve decided those activities remain for the young. Give me my hot cocoa, my slippers, and the comfort of a non-broken back.
I started watching The Sopranos in the meantime, too. I haven’t ever watched the show before, so I’m glad to finally get around to it. It really is a family show, one that observes how past trauma affects present and future trauma, how no one can really control their fate, and a lot of gabagool. I know how it’s spelled. I know the actual lyrics for the theme song aren’t “Woke up this morning/Got some gabagool“. Relax.
Anyway, that’s all for now. Did I mention that we should dismantle ICE and salt the Earth on which it used to stand? Well, I’ll keep mentioning it. Be well. Be safe.
